Path Laying - May 5, 2001


With the dome now in place all efforts are focused on turning the Gifford into an operational Observatory. Now that the roof is sealed and the internal observing floor in place a window has been installed and even on the rare occasions when it rains in Wellington work can continue.

It may not be art but it keeps the wind out

The plan today was to relay the path through the enclosure to the observatory door to both reduce the gradient and to open up more space for future expansion. Initially there was some discussion concerning the correct approach
